Aboriginal Adventures Canada
Gilakasla (Welcome), the first explorers to Canada found our homeland to be a vast beautiful world inhabited by many different aboriginal tribes. Most explorers would hire or consult with the local First Nations, so that their passages through the new world were more rewarding, and safe. When you are coming to Canada, or exploring new regions of the country we share, why not do the same as the first explorers once did? By having First Nations guide you in their traditional territories, you are going to ensure your explorations are going to be all that they can be, thus creating memories that shall last a lifetime.
Tour companies tend to be seasonal business operations, where at the end of the season the operators usually go elsewhere. First Nations don’t do this, for the area we operate our tourism ventures in, has been our home and backyard for thousands of years. This allows us to show, share, and tell about a region better than anyone else. Best of all, by using our operations you are helping to support many First Nations’ families, and our communities.
One of the greatest aspects of having the indigenous people of the land guide you, you are able to experience our perspective to the lands, mountains, forests, plains and water ways. By sharing our ways and telling our stories, you are assured that your adventure is going to be very unique. Only we can share our legends and stories with authenticity and integrity.
“No matter what tour you decide to take with Aboriginal Adventures Canada, you will come to understand that even in this modern world, true Indian guides still exist.”

2010 will see most eco-cultural packages offered by Aboriginal Adventures Canada being conducted throughout coastal British Columbia. We ensure that you get the aboriginal cultural component attached to every regional draw that the operators are working with, for we work closely with Haida, Nuu-chah-nulth, Kitasoo/Xaixais, Nuxalk, Chilcotin, and other fellow aboriginals.
We have day or multi-day packages to suit everyone's budget. I will personally be on most multi-day tours that we offer through 2010. This is so that I can help my fellow First Nations develop their tourism ventures, for I have been active in eco-cultural tourism for over twenty years. It is by working together that we First Nations are going to ensure that our tourism ventures succeed. It shall also ensure we are delivering tourism products professionally to people who want to experience our unique way of life, and amazing perspective towards the animal kingdom that we have shared our homeland with, since the dawn of our creations.

Grizzly bear tours, whale watching, sea kayaking, mother ship adventures and sport fishing are some of the adventures we offer for those that want to come and experience our homelands. If you are just coming to see the scenery of Super Natural British Columbia, catch a giant fish, or enjoy all that the animal kingdom has to offer, then Aboriginal Adventures Canada is sure to make your dreams of seeing and experiencing what British Columbia has to offer on a First Nations traditional level come true.
If you are wanting to live as we do, see how we traditionally harvest our food, taste the bounty from land or sea, experience our ancient ways, or sit with us to witness age old dances where our history comes to life, then see the numerous options we have for one to take an adventure of a lifetime!
After many years guiding people to see and experience coastal British Columbia, I have learned that all want to do so in comfort. I have also come to understand that most have but a few days to see what they may have traveled so far to experience. I know that many are also on a budget, and in their hearts they want to see and experience as much as they possibly can. Taking this all into account, you will find that I have created Aboriginal Adventures Canada in such a way that one can find exactly what they want in an eco-touring company. After all, being a good guide means you not only safely show your clients what they want, you listen to their needs or desires and deliver.
You will find on our web site that we do not use filtering, panoramic imaging, or other software to enhance the pictures I have taken through my years of guiding, or borrowed from fellow guides. Sure, some may be grainy, blurry, or out of balance, but our pictures are only for you to see what can be experienced in our traditional territories. Our job is to get you out into the animal kingdom and ensure you witness what you have come for in their natural environment. Then it is up to you to place crystal clear images into your mind to last a lifetime as memories. Yes, you may want to bring a camera with different lens's or settings, for our aboriginal guides are going to get you close!
I owned and operated Village Island Tours for many years. The company is now gone, but not what I learned. Over twenty years of proudly showing our People’s traditional territories has allowed me to lead a life that kept me upon the waters, and out in my beloved bush. Throughout the years I have seen or learned of things that most are amazed to see or hear about.
Aboriginal Adventures Canada now allows me to continue with being an Indian guide, that I so enjoy. My clients often state that my tours are so thrilling, due to my passion and desire for what I do. So be it, I just enjoy what I do, and hopefully I get to bring you on a journey of new experiences and discovery within my world. If you journey with one of the other aboriginal companies, it too shall be amazing!
I have seen through the years that many of my fellow aboriginals are in need of help to get into the tourism industry, but lack the knowledge of how to do it. This is why I have structured my operations where we work with other First Nations Bands (Tribes) or individuals. I am able to help develop their operations from the ground up if need be, for I also operate a First Nations focused consulting operation. My years of experience allows me to understand what the visitors to our regions want, so I am also able to help other aboriginals deliver their tourism product (s) the way that you expect. As one can see, Aboriginal Adventures Canada is committed to ensuring your adventures are not only the best they can be, we are committed to helping other aboriginals benefit through tourism, for it only means that our rich cultures and heritage continues to grow forever. - Tom Sewid
